Privacy policy
This privacy policy explains how Sumezi processes personal data when you use our platform. We process as little data as possible, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who we are
Sumezi is an email editor and newsletter platform, part of the SIMEZU ecosystem. For the data you place in the platform as a user (such as your subscriber lists) we act as a processor on your behalf, the controller.
What data we process
- Account data (name, email), managed through SIMEZU and passed to us for access.
- Workspace content: templates, subscriber lists and fields you add yourself.
- Sending data: send status, opens and clicks, per campaign.
- Technical data: logs necessary for security and troubleshooting.
Lawful basis & purpose
We process data to provide the service (performance of the contract) and to keep the platform secure and reliable (legitimate interest). We never sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
The role of SIMEZU
Authentication, subscriptions and payments are handled by SIMEZU. For those parts we refer you to the SIMEZU privacy policy. Sumezi itself stores no passwords or payment details.
Retention
We keep workspace content for as long as your account is active. If you delete a subscriber or workspace, we delete the associated data, except for legal retention obligations and the suppression list needed to avoid re-mailing unsubscribed addresses.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, and you can object to processing. Much of this you manage directly in the app or via SIMEZU. For the rest, we're happy to help.
